Acquiring a LAC Humidors cigar cave, dressed in our finest leathers, is the culmination of a quest for elegance. Beyond its exceptional aesthetics, it is a high-precision instrument designed to sublimate your vitolas.
However, before placing your precious cigars inside, a "seasoning" phase is essential. Discover how to prepare your humidor correctly by leveraging our exclusive innovations.
Why Should You Season Your Humidor Before Use?
Unlike the majority of manufacturers who use mahogany or Okoume we have made the exclusive choice of Cedrus Deodara (True Cedar). This majestic wood, with its silky texture, offers a sweet resinous aroma that promotes optimal aging and enhances the flavor of your cigars over time.
Upon delivery, this wood is naturally dry. If you place your cigars inside immediately, the cedar will draw moisture from them, drying them out. It must therefore be gently acclimated.
Step 1: Indirect Humidification (The Secret of Patience)
To avoid stressing the wood or damaging the finish of your humidor, the LAC Humidors method is gentle:
Simply place a small container filled with distilled water inside the empty humidor.
Close the humidor and let it sit for 24 hours. The Cedrus Deodara will naturally absorb this ambient humidity to stabilize itself.
Note: Never wipe the interior wood with a damp cloth; our premium cedar requires a gradual moisture intake.

Step 2: Activating Our Patented TL10® Humidifier
While your humidor is acclimating, prepare your humidification system. The pride of our workshop, the exclusive TL10® humidifier (Patented and Made in France), is the heart of your cave.
Equipped with advanced technical foam, it requires no complex maintenance: distilled water (or a propylene glycol solution) is all it needs.
Easy Installation: Ready to use, it attaches instantly to the interior of the humidor thanks to its powerful integrated magnet.
The Watch-Inspired Crown: The TL10® offers total control. By simply rotating the top cover—much like the crown of a luxury watch—you can adjust the openings from 10% to 100%.

Step 3: Monitoring and Loading Your Cigars
After 24 hours, remove the water container and install your TL10®. Let the environment stabilize, then check the levels using your precision hair hygrometer (manufactured by our German partner Fischer, specialists since 1945).
The ideal relative humidity (RH) is between 65% and 75% (the TL10® can maintain up to 85% if the vents are fully open).
Once the correct level is reached, add your cigars, ensuring you don’t overpack the cave to allow for air circulation.
Adjust as needed: If the humidity is too high, slightly close the TL10® crown. If it is too low, open it further.
The TL10® is capable of maintaining this optimal rate for nearly 4 weeks before needing a refill.
💡 The LAC Humidors Expertise Humidity management is a complex science. This is why we only use hair hygrometers (natural or synthetic membrane) housed in stainless steel casings.
To guarantee absolute precision, remember to calibrate your hygrometer twice a year.
